Both players have showcased commendable performances for their respective clubs throughout the season.
Moffi reached a significant milestone recently by scoring his 50th Ligue 1 goal in a 2-1 defeat against Nantes.
The 24-year-old has been in sensational form, netting 10 goals in 23 appearances for Les Aiglons this season. This isn’t Moffi’s first nomination for the award, having been in contention last season as well.
Meanwhile, Moses Simon although sidelined due to an unfortunate ankle injury sustained on international duty last month, has made a notable impact for his club, contributing three goals and six assists in 22 league outings for Nantes.
Both Moffi and Simon aim to follow in the footsteps of Vincent Enyeama and Victor Osimhen, who have previously clinched the award.
The duo faces stiff competition from a talented pool of nominees, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Marseille) from Gabon, Algerian duo Nabil Bentaleb (Lille) and Amine Gouiri (Stade Rennes), Morocco’s PSG sensation Achraf Hakimi, Senegal’s Lamine Camara (Metz), last season’s winner Chancel Mbemba (Marseille) from DR Congo, Oumar Diakite (Reims) from Ivory Coast, Moffi’s teammate Youssouf Ndayishimiye from Burundi, and Wilfried Singo representing Monaco.
The winner of the Marc-Vivien Foe award, which recognizes exceptional talent and contributions to Ligue 1 by African players, will be announced on May 13.
