Leon Balogun Wants Rangers Stay

Nigerian and Rangers CB, Leon Balogun has revealed that discussions regarding a contract extension with the club have not yet commenced.

Nevertheless Balogun, who is currently in his second spell with Rangers, is enthusiastic about prolonging his stay at the Ibrox Stadium.

The defender hasn’t featured regularly for Rangers this season, appearing in 16 matches across various competitions for the Light Blues.

Following a brief spell on the sidelines, the centre-back recently made a significant return to action, earning a starting spot in the Scottish Cup semi-final triumph over Heart last weekend.

With his existing contract set to conclude by the end of June, the footballer is keen to secure his future with Rangers beyond the current campaign.

“I hope so. Has there been talks about my future? Not yet. I don’t know what will happen,” Balogun remarked.

“I think those decisions will be made within the club within the next few weeks,” he was quoted by the Daily Record.

“I hope I get a notification a bit more timely than the last time around! I would like to think I can be quite positive, touching on the manager choosing me on Sunday, but I can’t really tell you, I don’t know yet.”

Leon Balogun’s potential contract extension holds importance for both him as the defender aims to prolong his stay with the club.
