Tyson Fury serenaded Wladimir Klitschko and the fight was almost cancelled before incredible upset victory

Tyson Fury is an unpredictable and chaotic character and this all came out around his fight with Wladimir Klitschko.

In November 2015, Fury got his first shot at a world title against the long-reigning champion Klitschko and prior to the fight no-one gave ‘The Gypsy King’ a chance.

With that being said, Fury provided a lot of entertainment for boxing fans in the build-up, even if most people didn’t believe he would win the fight.

At the pre-fight press conference he arrived dressed as batman and fought the joker and then at the media workout he took to the microphone and serenaded Klitshcko at ringside, singing ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ by Bette Midler.

And to add to the chaos the fight was almost called off in the days leading up, as Fury’s team were not happy with the amount of sponge material on the canvas of the ring, describing it as ‘ridiculous’.

At the time, Klitschko’s brother, Vitali, argued: “It’s the same for both fighters.

“Both fighters have the same conditions, same gloves, same ring and you are unhappy always.”

But, this was not good enough for John Fury, father to the challenger, who claimed the fight was off. “They’re cheating all the way these people.”

This did not faze Fury himself at all, however, as he posted a video from his hotel room rapping along to ‘Juicy’ by the Notorious B.I.G just hours before he was set to take to the ring.

And as we now know, the issues between Fury and Klitshcko’s teams were ironed out as the two men did end up fighting.

On fight night, Klitschko couldn’t get a handle of Fury’s awkward and unpredictable style, as he was out-boxed over twelve rounds and ‘The Gypsy King’ was awarded the upset victory by unanimous decision.

In the process, Fury picked up the unified WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight world titles.

There was supposed to be a rematch between the two men, but Fury fell into a dark place, suffering with mental health issues and putting on a huge amount of weight, as he spent the next three years away from boxing.

But, he made his comeback in 2018 and he has looked better than ever since returning to the sport, taking on Deontay Wilder in a trilogy of bouts, winning two and drawing one, to claim the WBC world title.

And on February 17 he fights Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia where the winner will make history by being crowned the first undisputed heavyweight world champion in the four belt era.
