Police rescue suspected baby trafficker from mob
The Nigerian military and Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, restored peace within the Mile-12 space of Kosofe Native Council of Lagos State.

Bother began on Sunday after a cult warfare that claimed the lifetime of an official of the Nationwide Union of Highway Transport Staff (NURTW), Onaopemipo Lawal, popularly often known as Ariku.

In a 16 seconds video that went viral, the attackers had been seen hitting him with sticks till he was immobile.

When information of the assault reached his allies, they stormed the scene and rushed him to the hospital, the place he was confirmed useless.

Talking with The Guardian, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent of Police (SP) Benjamin Hudenyin, mentioned: “No arrest has been made relating to the matter, however order has been restored.

MEANWHILE, police operatives connected to Surulere Division have rescued 22-year-old Ayomide Fawehinmi from a mob, for allegedly stealing a toddler at Empire, Surulere, Lagos.

The suspect was rescued and thereafter arrested after a misery name was acquired from members of the group in regards to the mob motion.

The state Command mentioned Fawehinmi had lured a 15-year-old boy from his mom’s store to an unknown vacation spot earlier than he was accosted by a neighbour who raised the alarm.

It was learnt that the suspect had already dispossessed the boy of an Itel android cellphone to chop off communication along with his mom.

Hundeyin mentioned whereas the boy was rescued unharmed and the cellphone recovered, an investigation is ongoing to determine the total extent of the suspect’s culpability.

“The suspect could be arraigned contingent on the end result of the investigation.

“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has recommended residents of Lagos State for promptly alerting the authorities to suspicious individuals.

“He warned members of the general public to desist from jungle justice as it’s a crime in itself,” Hudeyin.
