Finidi was introduced to the media at an event along with the Minister of Sports John Owan Enoh and NFF President Ibrahim Gusau at the FA headquarters in Abuja, this Monday.

 

The 52 year-old was given a one-year contract and tasked with qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Former international Daniel Amokachi, who was the second assistant coach when Nigeria last won the AFCON in 2013 in South Africa, will be part of the new coaching team, with goalkeeper trainer Abideen Baruwa also joining the backroom staff.

Meanwhile, the NFF also announced Daniel Amokachi as assistant coach and Abideen Baruwa will continue in his role as goalkeeper trainer.

Chima Onyeike (Fitness Trainer) and Benjamin James (Assistant coach) and Mehmet Ozturk as Match analyst make up the backroom staff.
