Earthy was concussed and taken to hospital for further tests, but the midfielder is now resting at home, the Hammers have confirmed.

Performance director Richard Collinge said: “George is back home and we will continue to monitor him over the coming days as he completes the graduated return to play programme.”

Earthy was left lying on the pitch and fellow players instantly called for the medical teams to come on and help.

They then rushed onto the pitch and following six minutes of treatment, which included the academy star receiving oxygen, he was placed onto a stretcher.
