The election will take place at the Nigeria Air Force Base, Airport Road, Benin City, starting at 11 AM.

Delegates from the 18 Local Government Football Councils, along with statutory delegates from various football associations, will participate in deciding the new Executive Board of the Edo State Football Association.

Candidates cleared for the chairmanship position include Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, Engr Emmanuel Edekin Imiere, John Bull Edosomwan, Egbon Victor, and Benjamin Owerei. Kindness Ohiowele is the sole candidate for the vice-chairmanship position.

Seven candidates are vying for membership positions, including three current board members, Amadin Stephen, Charles Olubayo, and Faith Ojeaga. Others are Mike Uhuanmwangho, Mikhail Osakpomwan Igbinovia, Kennedy Ugbodaga, and former board member Paul Ojeisekhoba.

The NFF delegation, led by Vice-President Felix Anyansi Agwu, resolved the issues after a meeting with the outgoing Edo FA Board and stakeholders.

The findings affirmed the decisions taken by the outgoing board, allowing the electoral process to resume.

Outgoing Edo Football Association chairman, Dr. Aghedo Moses, expressed gratitude to the Edo state Government, NFF, and football enthusiasts for their intervention.

Dr. Aghedo looks forward to a smooth handover to the new Board and urged all candidates and stakeholders to cooperate with the Electoral and Appeal committees for a successful conclusion on Friday.
