Arsenal star Gabriel welcomes Brazil’s history making teenager Endrick by flooring him in training
Brazil’s latest exciting prospect Endrick was on the end of a hefty tackle from Arsenal defender Gabriel in his first training session.
The 17-year-old is the youngest player to receive a Selecao call-up since the legendary Ronaldo did at the same age in 1994.
Endrick currently plays for Brazilian top flight outfit Palmeiras but will join Real Madrid in July after a signing a deal with the club last year.
Having scored 12 goals for his club this year, the striker was rewarded with his first senior call-up for his country last week.
Some of his teammates for the international break include Ederson, Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Jr, all of whom played at the World Cup.
Arsenal star Gabriel was also named caretaker boss Fernando Diniz’s squad and was not shy to give him a savage welcome to the team.
In a video of training posted on X, Endrick received the ball in the middle of the pitch and his touch was just slightly too heavy.
Gabriel charged in to make the challenge and did so by using his strength to barge the youngster out of the way and onto the floor.
The 25-year-old showed his experience and defensive prowess in the tackle, with Endrick still very new to top-level football.
He was sent to the turf by a man who nearly helped guide Arsenal to a Premier League title last season, so you can cut him a bit of slack.
Brazil will face Colombia and Argentina in their next two qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup in the coming days.
It remains to be seen if Endrick, who scored five goals in four matches for their U17 side, will feature at all during those clashes.
However, he is certainly a talent that Brazilians will be excited to see on a regular basis in the years to come.
