Dessers Blasts Treatment From Rangers Critics

Dessers Blasts Treatment From Rangers Critics – Latest Sports News In Nigeria

Despite facing criticism for a slow start at Ibrox, Dessers has responded emphatically on the pitch, delivering impressive performances.

The Nigerian has faced calls for his sale from some fans and pundits, but amidst the criticism his performance has steadily improved.

His recent standout moment came against St Mirren, where he clinched victory for Rangers with a crucial goal, keeping their Scottish Premiership title hopes alive.

Dessers also bagged a brace against Hearts, propelling Rangers to the Scottish Cup final against Celtic United.

With 20 goals across all competitions this season, Dessers has proven his worth as a formidable striker for the Gers.

“Throughout my career, I know that if I play games, I’m always gonna score goals. For the eyes, I may not be the most beautiful striker or the most clean striker but I think it’s easy for me to see what’s not there,” Dessers said, per Joshua Barrie.

“But as I am in life, I think it’s a good lesson for everybody, I love to look at what’s there and what you get out of me and what I can do for the team.

In response to his critics, Dessers emphasized his commitment to the team’s success, highlighting his contributions beyond goal-scoring, including winning battles with defenders and making significant sprints on the field.

“If you look only at the goals, the numbers speak for themselves. Aside from the goals, winning the battles with the defenders. About running, last week, I broke my record for sprints.

“To do all of these for a team, I think it’s the same importance as scoring goals. These are the things that people in the stands or on social media don’t see, but they benefit the team. But I want more goals.”

Cyriel Dessers signed for Rangers from Cremonese last summer.
