Anthony Edwards makes startling admission after hitting his head on the rim in gravity-defying, game-saving block

Anthony Edwards had one of the highlight plays of the year on Thursday night.

The Minnesota Timberwolves star showcased his absurd athleticism against the Indiana Pacers with a spectacular game-saving block at the buzzer.

The T-Wolves were holding on to a two-point lead when ‘Ant-Man’ defied gravity to rise up and swat Aaron Nesmith’s layup attempt away.

Edwards soared so high on the jaw-dropping defensive play that he hit his head on the rim.

He fell to the floor as the game ended but swiftly got up to chest-bump teammate Rudy Gobert as they celebrated the 113-111 win.

Edwards, who matched his season high with 44 points while adding six rebounds and six assists, admitted after the game that he’d never jumped that high before.

“I hit my head, I think on the rim,” he said.

“It’s hurting real bad. And I landed on my wrist. I ain’t never jumped that high in my life.”

“My pain tolerance is high,” he added.

“I fell hard right there just then on that block. I think I’m a pretty tough dude, though.”

All in all it was a painful night for Edwards.

In the first minute of the game, ‘Ant’ had an injury scare after driving baseline and stepping on the foot of Nesmith.

The Minnesota man rolled his ankle and limped back to the locker room but was eventually able to return to the game.

He finished the first half with 15 points, three rebounds and three assists before continuing to pour it on in the second half.

“I found my second wind late in the fourth, and it was over,” Edwards told Bally Sports North.

“Once I found my second wind I knew there was nobody that could stop me.”

The highlight of his scoring output came when he drilled a tie-breaking three-pointer with just over a minute remaining.

The high-flying Timberwolves snatched the win without All-Star power forward Karl-Anthony Towns, who will have surgery next week to address a meniscus tear in his left knee.

KAT is expected to miss around four weeks and thirteen games of the regular season.

Thankfully for Minnesota, center Gobert chipped in with 18 points and 14 rebounds against Indy as the team moved into top spot in the Western Conference, half a game ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
