Yusuf Alhassan wins first trophy in Belgium
Nigerian midfielder Yusuf Alhassan became Belgian cup winner following Royal Antwerp’s win over Mechelen in the final on Sunday.
Alhassan, however, didn’t get a taste of action as he was among unused substitutes during the final at the King Baudouin Stadium.
While the youngster was watching from the bench, his teammates got the job done by winning 2-0.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Jenssen netted the opener from the penalty spot five minutes after half hour mark.
Royal Antwerp finally had a breathing space after getting their second on 81st minute. Substitute Michel-Ange Balikwisha was the goalscorer.
The win success guaranteed Royal Antwerp European football next season, and they are still involved in the title playoff.
