Despite a slow start by Justina Eyakpobeyan, the team steadily improved with each baton pass, ultimately securing their spot for the Paris Olympics.
Team Nigeria saw off stiff competition from Switzerland, who finished second in 42.75s, and China, who claimed the third spot in 43.13s.
In the men’s category, Team Nigeria finished second behind rivals, Ghana, to secure qualification.
The Nigerian quartet of Udodi Onwuzuruike, Consider Ekanem, Alaba Akintola, and Karlington Anunagba ran a time of 38.57s to ensure their automatic qualification for a place in Paris.
Meanwhile, Team Ghana delivered a impressive performance, clocking a Season’s Best of 38.29s to triumph in heat 2 of the men’s 4x100m Olympic qualification round.
