Gift Orban has been invited for Nigeria’s U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Guinea.
Orban was overlooked by Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro for the Africa Cup of Nations, double-header against Guinea-Bissau, but he has now been drafted to the Olympic Eagles.
According to reports, the 20-year-old could arrive the country on Monday to join up with the squad.
The young attacker has been unstoppable in Belgium, netting back to back hat-tricks for KAA Gent against Zulte Waregem and Istanbul Basaksehir respectively.
His hat-trick against Basaksheir is the fastest in the history of the UEFA Europa Conference league and European Club competitions.
He was later named as the Conference League player of the week and has score 12 goals in 9 matches for Gent since joining the team in January.
Nigeria will host Guinea in the first leg of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, on March 22. The reyutn leg will take place place in Morocco five days later.
