Wizkid Returns To Lagos From Europe, Hangs Out With Wande Coal, Others

Nigerian Afrobeat and pop singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid or Bigwiz, has returned to Lagos.

Naija News learnt that the 32-year-old musician had been on a tour of Europe for months and is believed to be back in Nigeria to continue on some of his pending music projects and collaborations.

Tribune gathered that Wizkid, who has been seen with Wande Coal and a few other friends in the entertainment industry, would remain in Nigeria for a couple of weeks to collaborate with fellow singers.

It was said that the singer would be visiting many places within and outside Lagos to enjoy the brief holiday with friends.

With ‘More Love, Less Ego’ tour now suspended, Wizkid, it was learnt, will spend more time in Nigeria with his family and friends before he jets out again to prepare for his first show in July in the United Kingdom.

It could be recalled that Wizkid rescheduled his “More Love, Less Ego” tour for the fall season, from September through December. However, he did not provide specific dates.

Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has revealed why he dumped his admission to the University of Lagos.

Recall the ‘Calm Down’ crooner had announced in January 2022 that he gained admission to fulfil his mum’s desire for him to complete his education.

However, a month after the admission, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) went on an eight-month strike that halted academic activities in the country.

In an interview with iHeartRadio, Rema explained that he had to bail on the admission because the university went on strike which was going to affect his plan.

According to the singer, he had really strategized how to juggle schooling and touring, but the strike made it awkward.

Rema also confirmed he has no plan to move his base out of Nigeria, adding that he loves being connected to his roots.

He said: “I got admission last year but I bailed on it because the school went on strike. All schools went on strike in Nigeria. I wanted to really strategize schooling and touring. The whole strike made it awkward. It was like glitches.

“I live in Nigeria, still in Nigeria, I am sticking with the roots. I don’t plan to leave outside of Africa, I like staying connected to the roots. I also want to stay close to family. It is always good to come back to where it started from, it is helpful so I don’t forget.”
