  • The singer stated that his career was taking all his attention that he barely sees his children despite living together with them.
  • Reminisce stated that for the sake of his family, he had to leave music for a while and focus on them

Nigerian hip-hop artist and actor, Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, popularly known as Reminisce sheds light on the reasons behind his deliberate retreat from the spotlight.

In an interview with Zero Conditions, the singer said that he took a hiatus from music to prioritize his family.

After seven years, Reminisce, who made his long-awaited reappearance with the release of his highly anticipated album “ATSG, Vol. 1,” revealed that his career was consuming all of his time and that, while living with his children, he seldom noticed changes in his home or saw his children.

In order not to miss out on the life of his children, he took a break from his craft to focus on them.

He said:

There were times I don’t see my kids for 4 days and we live together. When I get back, they’re in school…

“One of the reasons I actually did take a step back. Let me tell you this story. Some years back, my wife changed the entire set up of our house. It was around that period where I was dropping albums every year and touring. My house painting was changed for almost two years and I didn’t notice. That was when I realised that I need to take a step back and be will my family. Family over everything.”

Few weeks ago,  Reminisce had warned trolls against dragging his family

Reminisce took to social media to address the disturbing trend of individuals targeting his loved ones with unwarranted insults and criticisms.

He wrote:

All fun and games, but no use my family find ‘banger tweet’ I will fish you out and believe me… hashtags won’t help! Mo ma wo inu e Jade bi Idun ni! Ti a ban sunkun…..”
