VIDEO : Evacuation name as heavy floods drench Japan metropolis
Residents of the Japanese metropolis of Hamamatsu have been urged to evacuate on Friday after heavy rains precipitated the Magome river to burst its banks.
The Japan Meteorological Company issued heavy rain warnings for Shizuoka Prefecture, the place Hamamatsu is situated.
At 1300 native time (0400 GMT), the company recorded 118 millimeters (4.6 inches) of rain within the Hamakita space of Hamamatsu.
Footage from Japanese TV confirmed streets submerged beneath floodwater. Metropolis authorities urged residents to take motion to guard their lives and established evacuation websites.
