Transfer: Kepa to stay at Chelsea as friend arrives Stamford Bridge

Chelsea on Saturday signed a new goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez from Brighton to provide competition for No.1 Kepa Arrizabalaga.

In a post via its website, Chelsea confirmed that Sanchez signed a seven-year contract with the Blues.

Sanchez has been capped twice by Spain’s national team.

The 25-year-old was left out of Brighton’s pre-season squad and the Seagulls have since signed Bart Verbruggen this summer as his replacement.

Chelsea’s statement read in part: ‘welcome to Chelsea, Robert The Spaniard has penned a seven-year contract with the Blues and joins our senior goalkeeping ranks alongside Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcus Bettinelli in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

“Welcome to Chelsea, Robert!”
