Super Eagles’ Victor Boniface Is Currently Joint Second Best Striker In Europe

Nigerian international Victor Boniface is the joint second-best striker in Europe, per the most current Whoscored rankings.

Recall that Victor Boniface moved from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise to Bayer Leverkusen for €20 million during the last summer transfer window.

Within a short time in the German Bundesliga, Boniface was named the Bundesliga’s Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month after scoring seven goals and dishing out two assists in seven games.

The 22-year-old Nigerian striker has been crucial to Bayer Leverkusen’s rise in the Bundesliga this season as they are currently topping the league table after seven league games.

Leverkusen is undefeated at both ends of the field with the most goals scored in the league (23) and the fewest goals conceded (six).

It is therefore not surprising that Victor Boniface shares second place with Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid and Leroy Sane of Bayern Munich in the Whoscored rankings with the same amount of points (8.3).

Sehrou Guirassy of the Vfb Stuttgart is in first place. The Guinean has dominated the Bundesliga with 13 goals in seven games, or nearly two goals per game.

With this performance, the 27-year-old striker, who has never in his career scored more than 11 goals in a league season, has also established new heights in his career.

Sane shares the same number of points as Boniface and Bellingham with six goals from seven games.

As for Bellingham, the Englishman has had a successful start to life at Real Madrid, scoring eight goals in eight league games.

Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan, who has a rating of 8.0 despite having 10 goals and an assist in eight games, is in fifth place.
