Spanish football chief Luis Rubiales says he will not resign after controversial World Cup kiss
Luis Rubiales, president of the Spanish Football Federation, announced that he would not resign after he kissed footballer Jenni Hermoso after her team won the Women’s World Cup.
Rubiales described the controversial kiss as “spontaneous, mutual, euphoric and consensual” although he apologised “for the context in which it took place”.
The announcement comes after the kiss sparked calls for his resignation.
