Six persons killed, eight others injured in fresh Kaduna attack

About six people have been killed and eight others sustained various degrees of injuries in Ambe community in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following an attack by unknown gunmen

A statement issued by a member of the House of Representatives for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Daniel Amos, said the incident took place in the early hours of Monday when the invaders stormed the community in their large numbers shooting sporadically.

He lamented, “I am saddened by the news of the late night attack on the peaceful Ambe community in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Reports reaching me said the brutal attack by suspected bandits claimed the lives of six innocent people while eight others sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

“I strongly condemn this heinous act, which is another attempt to destabilize the peace and security in my constituency and our dear state. It is unacceptable that our people cannot live in peace without fear of being attacked by these criminal elements.”

The lawmaker called on all residents of Sanga local government area to remain calm and peaceful, assuring them that efforts are being made to find a lasting solution to the insecurity in the area.

“We must continue to promote peaceful coexistence among our diverse communities, irrespective of our differences,” he emphasized.

He also called on the security agencies to act swiftly to apprehend the perpetrators of the evil act and bring them to justice, saying that the safety of the people must remain a top priority and they must not allow criminals to continue to operate with impunity.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones, the Arak chiefdom, Sanga Local Government and Kaduna State in general, praying for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries.

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, Mansir Hassan could not be reached as of the time of filing the report.
