Rasheed Buruji Kashamu elected as PDP lawmaker in Ogun

Rasheed Buruji Kashamu, the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has won the House of Assembly seat to represent Ijebu North Constituency I, in Ogun, Peoples Gazette has learnt.

Mr Rasheed, who is the son of the late Ogun politician and business tycoon, Buruji Kashamu, won the election, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday.

A result of the weekend poll obtained by The Gazette showed that the PDP candidate polled a total of 7,107 votes to beat his rival in the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 6,866 votes.
