Okowa Knocks Shettima Over Assertion On Safety

The vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Get together (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa, has slammed his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Kashim Shettima, over a press release about taking cost of safety if the APC will get elected into energy.

This comes after Shettima, throughout the Nigerian Bar Affiliation (NBA) convention which held final week in Lagos, made feedback about overseeing the nation’s safety if elected.

He had mentioned, “I’ve been within the theatre of conflicts for 18 years. I’ll lead the troops, my principal is an economic system wizard who has reworked Lagos into the third largest economic system in Africa. He’ll consider the economic system.

“By God’s grace, I’ll deal with the safety, and never solely deal with the safety, I’ll lead the troops to battle throughout the size and breadth of this nation “

Reacting to the assertion on Wednesday, Okowa slammed Shettima for allegedly making an attempt to delegitimize the function of the president and relegating the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu, who the structure has made the Commander-In-Chief if elected president.

Okowa mentioned, “I don’t wish to discuss their insurance policies. If the vice-president will take cost of safety, is he (the president) not going to preside over the safety council on the federal stage?

“I don’t perceive that. As a result of there’s a commander-in-chief. Is there a reversal in place?”

“He can supply recommendation. However I’ll discover it absurd that he speaks about: ‘I’ll take cost of it’. Presumably they’ve agreed that he’s to be the commander-in-chief.”
