Okada Riders Storm Sanwo-Olu’s Office, Protest Motocycle Ban

Industrial motorcyclists, popularly referred to as Okada riders, on Monday stormed the workplace of the governor of Lagos state, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu, in Ikeja, to protest the ban on business biking in some elements of the state.

The motorcyclists, who have been of their 1000’s, urged the federal government to droop the prolonged ban on their actions in six Native Authorities Areas, LGAs, scheduled to start on September 1, 2022, on Thursday, exactly.

The protesting Okada riders have been led by chairman of Bike Operators Affiliation of Lagos State (MOALS), Ramoni Eleniyan and few different union leaders.

Naija Information remembers that Sanwo-Olu on Could 18, 2022, introduced the full ban on Okada operations in six LGAs, and the respective 9 Native Council Improvement Areas, LCDAs, underneath them together with all main bridges and highways of the State.

Others embrace: Eti-Osa, Eti-Osa East, Eti-Osa West, Iru Victoria Island and Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA.

The extra 4 councils affected by the pronouncement, embrace: Kosofe, Ikosi-Isheri, Agboyi-Ketu LCDAs, Oshodi-Isolo, Isolo, Ejigbo LCDAs, Shomolu, Bariga LCDA and Mushin, Odi-Olowo LCDA.
