Smith proposed that the loser has to deliver a statement in the legislature written by the winner while wearing the other’s team jersey.

In accepting the bet, Eby posted that over the coming weeks, British Columbians and Edmontonians will have to set aside what they have in common — hating the Calgary Flames — for the glory of hockey.

Vancouver has won all four regular-season contests against Edmonton this year.

There will be two outdoor watch parties in Ice District on Wednesday and Friday — one in the plaza and the other in the fan park.

Because of previously scheduled events at Rogers Place, there will not be indoor watch parties for the away games on Wednesday and Friday this week. Rogers Place is hosting All Elite Wrestling on Wednesday and Foreigner on Friday.

The Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers kick off their second-round series Monday. The Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars start their series Tuesday.

The New York Rangers beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in Sunday’s Game 1. Game 2 is Tuesday in New York.
