The ongoing fuel scarcity in Nigeria seems to be prompting the Federal Government to take action. They’ve initiated a 15-day emergency fuel supply to address the shortage across the country. This move involves ensuring fuel circulation and facilitating the importation of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by allowing vessels to discharge petrol into depots for distribution to filling stations.

According to reports, significant quantities of fuel have been offloaded at various depots, and efforts are being made to alleviate the situation. Despite these measures, queues at filling stations persist, causing inconvenience to motorists. Additionally, some stations are reportedly selling fuel at high prices, further exacerbating the challenges faced by consumers.

The situation highlights the complexities of managing fuel distribution and the impact it has on daily life, especially during holidays like May Day when demand may surge.
