NDLEA arrests 90-year-old bandit supplier

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 90-year-old retired soldier and bandit supplier identified as Usman Adamu.

Adamu was arrested in Mailalle, Sabon Birni, in Sokoto for supplying bandits illicit drugs.

The Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Mr Femi Babafemi disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

Babafemi said that the suspect had 5.1kg cannabis sativa in his possession at the time of his arrest.

He added that a 37-year-old Edo indigene of Ovia Local Government Area (LGA), Solo Osamede, had been arrested for drug trafficking.

Babafemi said Ovia was caught for ingesting 41 wraps of heroin at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

He noted that the suspect who is in custody was about to board a Turkish Airline flight to Milan, Italy, via Istanbul, Turkey on July 30.
