Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised one of his players, hailing them as ‘a little magician’.

Arteta was speaking after Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Wolves, which saw the Gunners return to the top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners boss was especially pleased with the contribution that was made by one individual at Molineux.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Arteta said: ‘Trossard, great player. He’s a little magician.

‘He can score on any surface and he’s a big threat; so composed, so cool, he can play in different positions. It’s just a joy to have him in the team’.

Trossard was on the scoresheet in Arsenal’s win against Wolves as he opened the scoring just before half time. Martin Odegaard added another goal in the closing stages of the second half.

Despite not being guaranteed a place in the starting lineup, Trossard has made some important contributions for Arsenal this season.

In total, the winger has scored 14 goals for the Gunners this campaign, with nine of those efforts coming in the Premier League.

Trossard was selected to start against Wolves ahead of Gabriel Martinelli, who replaced him in the 72nd minute.

Arsenal are back in action when they host Chelsea on Tuesday night, with Trossard looking to retain his place in the starting lineup for that fixture.

Arteta’s side are one point ahead of Manchester City but they have played a game more than Pep Guardiola’s side.
