Kylian Mbappe told to join Premier League club as he's warned joining Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid would be difficult

Kylian Mbappe has been told the Premier League might better than a Real Madrid transfer because of Jude Bellingham.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker has been heavily linked with a departure this year given his contract expires at the end of the season.

Real Madrid are the frontrunners for his signature but Liverpool have also been linked with the World Cup winner, while it’s said there are tentative links to Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

But speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, France legend Emmanuel Petit believes that midfielder Jude Bellingham could pose a problem for Mbappe in the Bernabeu dressing room as the current star at Madrid.

He also warned his compatriot that he would not be welcomed as heartily at Real as he would have been had he joined in the summer of 2022 when he signed a new contract with PSG instead in what was a stunning U-turn.

Speaking to Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent on talkSPORT Drive, Petit said: “Madrid was ready to deliver the red carpet out for Mbappe with such a huge amount of money.

“They were ready to break the bank for him. What happened afterwards is not the same situation now.

“Why? Because they felt probably betrayed, Madrid. I don’t know if that is right or not but this is the situation.

“On top of this, you have got Bellingham. He is the star of Madrid right now. Do you think you can have mini-stars who can shine at Madrid?”

England midfielder Bellingham moved to Spain from Dortmund in the summer and has taken the league by storm in Zinedine Zidane’s no.5 shirt.

When the clubs broke for the winter, he was LaLiga’s top scoring player on 13 goals in 17 games.

“Do you know how Madrid works? It is very difficult, there are a lot of big egos. On top of it, Madrid, it would be another player in the history of Madrid.

“They have won so many Champions Leagues, they have so many Ballon d’Or winners. So, they are used to that.

“If he goes over there, he will have to prove that he is Mbappe, one of the best players in the world. It won’t be easy because he is not welcome the same way he was welcome 18 months ago.

“So everything has changed since then. If I am Mbappe I would ask the question myself: ‘If I really wanted to go to Real Madrid, I would have gone 18 months ago, why now?’

“It has changed a lot, the situation at Madrid. Either I stay in Paris, I will be the one to bring the Champions League to Paris. In the history of Paris, it has never happened. He could be the first one. He has already broke every record at Paris. Or he goes to Premier League.

“For me, the choice is between Madrid and the Premier League. Can you imagine Bellingham if he comes to Real Madrid? They would have to change the wages for him.

“He is free. That means that he will receive a lot of money. Do you know how it works in the dressing room? The big players want to be the best earners.

“If they have a feeling that somebody has come from nowhere, not nowhere but you know what I mean, but he earns more than me? That could be the start of throwing him to the dressing room.”

It has been reported that a move to the Premier League interests Mbappe after being unimpressed by Real’s attempts to lure him on a pre-contract agreement.

Madrid were claimed to have imposed a deadline on any talks with the superstar striker that expires on January 15.

Should Mbappe decide to leave PSG, he would be able to do so on a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract expires.
