Arsenal legend Ian Wright admits Manchester City are now favourites for the Premier League after the Gunners and Liverpool slipped up on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were surprisingly beaten by Crystal Palace at Anfield, before Aston Villa left the Emirates with a 2-0 victory later in the day.

It means City, who beat Luton 5-1 on Saturday, are top of the table with six matches remaining.

Wright had tipped Arsenal to win the title, and had been confident that they would sweep Villa aside as Unai Emery returned to his former club.

But Wright says City will win the title from here, as he can’t see Pep Guardiola’s side losing.

‘Man City wouldn’t have thought Liverpool and Arsenal would have lost today,’ said Wright.

‘City know how to navigate this. They can afford to lose a game now, but I can’t see them losing one.’

City’s toughest remaining match on paper is a visit to Tottenham in May.

But it’s Arsenal that have to travel their first, with Ange Postecoglou’s side desperate to put a dent in their rivals’ title hopes.

Liverpool have to visit rivals Everton at Goodison Park.
