Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has said that he will not allow the enemies of the state to succeed.

Makinde made this disclosure on Wednesday in Ibadan.

Makinde, who stated that the enemies of the state were the criminal elements, insisted that he will deal with the enemies of the state.

He spoke during the Hijrah 1444 luncheon, held at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.

Some of those who graced the occasion included Chief Bayo Oyero, Senator Monsurat Sumonu, Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi, Alhaji Hammed Raji (SAN) and Sheik Taofeek Akewugbagold.

Makinde, while addressing the gathering, explained that his administration has overhauled the security system in the state.

He said that the only enemies of the state are the criminal elements.

He, however, vowed that his administration will deal with the enemies irrespective of who they are.

Who are our enemies? They are the criminal elements, but whoever they are, we will deal with them in Oyo State.

“Who are our enemies? They are the criminal elements, but whoever they are, we will deal with them in Oyo State.

“So, we are trying our best and we will continue to ensure Oyo State is safe and secure.

“Secondly, those who think they can separate us through religion won’t make any headway because the two religions(Islam and Christianity) are in our families.

“In Oyo State, we have a Hijab policy. If that policy is going to change, there must be engagement with stakeholders and I am happy to say that we are ready to have that engagement.”
