House Of The Dragon Season 2 Coming To Showmax In June 2024

The Targaryens are returning to our screens and Showmax is bringing all the action.

If you loved the Targaryens and have been held spellbound by the first season of the House Of The Dragon, there is something to look forward to in the coming months.

The second season of House of the Dragon, will be showing express on Showmax and M-Net from June 17th, 2024 and it is a continuation of the Emmy-winning first season, named Best TV Series – Drama at the 2023 Golden Globes and Best TV Series at Rotten Tomatoes’ Golden Tomato Awards for the best-reviewed show of 2022.

This entire series is a prequel, based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, and is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones which tells the story of the legendary House Targaryen.

For the cast, fan faves Matt Smith is back in his Critics Choice-nominated role as Daemon Targaryen, as is Emma D’Arcy in her Golden Globe-nominated role as Rhaenyra Targaryen. Olivia Cooke, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, and Rhys Ifans also return.

Adding spice to the new season, viewers are to brace up for the new cast members including BAFTA nominee Abubakar Salim (Father in Raised by Wolves) as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin (Sheila the She-Wolf in GLOW) as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox (Slow Horses, The Great) as Ser Gwayne Hightower, and Kieran Bew (Bill O’Hara in Warrior) as Hugh.
