A Ghanaian man identified as Patrick Amenuvor has called off a “Stand-a-thon” to break the Guinness World Record for longest standing by an individual a few hours after he commenced the attempt.

Amenuvor’s intention was to stand in a place without sitting for 7 days, from January 14 to January 21, 2024.

He, however, called off the attempt on the same day he started: January 14, 2024.

Amenuvor explained he took the action as he believed he violated some rules provided by the Guinness World Record.

“In light of these developments, a comprehensive review by management is imperative. We aim to rectify any oversights and prevent future errors that may impede subsequent attempts,” he added.

Amenuvor thanked all his supporters and Ghanaians for rallying behind him, adding that the stand-a-thon attempt is a dream he is passionate about fulfilling.
