EPL: You’re a disappointment – Agbonlahor slams Brazilian star after opening day defeat
Aston Villa legend, Gabby Agbonlahor, has slammed midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, saying he was ‘lost for words’ following their opening day defeat to Bournemouth.
Villa was away to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday and were brushed aside 2-0 by Scott Parker’s newly-promoted side.
Jefferson Lerma gave the Cherries the lead while Kieffer Moore wrapped up the shock victory for the south coast club 10 minutes from time.
Philippe Coutinho, who is the Villians star player, failed to below expectations and Agbonlahor feels the midfielder has to improve quickly if he is to be a success at Villa.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: “The big disappointment was [Philippe] Coutinho.
“He’s been brought in by Steven Gerrard and he was non-existent and didn’t really get on the ball.
“He had a shot in the second half and it went horribly wide and you think, this isn’t Coutinho. I’m lost for words.”
