EPL: Impressive performance – Alan Shearer salutes four Chelsea players after 4-4 draw with Man City

Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has heaped praises on four Chelsea players following their performances against Manchester City on Sunday.

The four Chelsea players are Reece James, Conor Gallagher, Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer.

According to Shearer, James was superb, Palmer was absolutely sensational, while Gallagher and Sterling were incredible against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Sterling, Palmer, Thiago Silva and Nicolas Jackson all scored for Chelsea against Man City, while Erling Haaland (2), Manuel Akanji and Rodri netted for the Premier League champions.

“Very impressive Chelsea performance, Reece James was superb, Conor Gallagher, Raheem Sterling was incredible but 21-year-old Palmer was absolutely sensational,” Shearer said on BBC Match of the Day 2.

He added, “One of the impressive things about him is he always tries to pass forward into forwards. His first thought is, can he do that, can he run forward.

“There was nothing short of it being magnificent when he had the ball. Offering himself when under pressure and then driving forward and setting Chelsea into really good positions.”

“He is 21 and has been there for five minutes and is a regular and main player in that team he looks so confident.”
