Emotional footage saw Bills' Damar Hamlin spend 15 minutes alone postgame at Bengals' logo

Damar Hamlin knelt near midfield inside the NFL stadium where he almost died from cardiac arrest less than a year ago.

The Buffalo Bills defensive back, who was inactive for Monday’s 24-18 road defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals, was seen hovering near the Bengals’ logo by himself.

According to reporters, Hamlin spent almost 15 minutes near midfield after the game.

It was clearly an emotional and personal moment for the 25-year-old, who entered the primetime contest unsure if he would play.

“Tonight was everything for me.. y’all don’t know the half of it. Trust me,” Hamlin tweeted on Monday.

Hamlin recently announced he was honoring 10 first responders, nurses and doctors who helped save his life last January.

That Bills-Bengals game at Paycor Stadium was canceled when he went down with a hit and was carted off the field via an ambulance.

The Bills defender is establishing a scholarship program for Cincinnati youths, which will award $1,000 to 10 individuals from under served communities.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said last week that a potential move to activate Hamlin against Cincy would be a football decision, not an emotional one.

“We acknowledge, as a team, what unfolded there,” McDermott said. “We are so thankful, as a team, that Damar is in a good spot.”

Hamlin began a long road to recovery after being revived by medical personnel and spending time in a Cincinnati hospital, inspiring millions along the way and bringing a new awareness to the importance of CPR training.

On Monday, the Bill returned to the field where he endured overcame his near-death experience.

Joe Burrow completed 31-of-44 passes for 348 yards, two touchdowns and a 108.9 rating, leading the Bengals to another victory.

“We’re coming along,” Burrow said. “We’ve played well the last couple of weeks and we have to keep it going.”

All four AFC North teams would make the playoffs if the season ended Monday.

“We were 1-0 this week. We have to be 1-0 next week, too,” Burrow said. “This is only game (No.) 8. We’ve got nine games left.”

After another football game for the Bills, Hamlin found his way back to the field and appeared to put everything in perspective.

Wearing a Bills hooded sweatshirt, he knelt at midfield and bowed his head before slowly walking away and looking at his phone.
