Easter: Kogi Monarch tasks religious leaders to intensify prayers for Nigeria

The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammadu Kebir Maikarfe IV has urged Christians to reflect on the life of Christ as they mark the Easter celebration.

Alhaji Ibrahim who gave the admonition on Thursday in his Easter message, said Christ sacrificed himself to save mankind, hence Christians should follow his steps for a better society.

The Maigari enjoined Christian and Muslim leaders to intensify prayers for a better Nigeria.

He pointed out that the fasting by both religious adherents at the same period was not mere coincidence but ordained by God for special intervention.

He urged the Federal Government to consider reopening of the borders to alleviate the sufferings of the masses who are currently passing through untold hardship.

The Maigari of Lokoja also enjoined Muslims to use the ongoing Ramadan to pray for the nation, especially for the present administration in Kogi State led by Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to enable him succeed.

He enjoined all religious adherents to strictly abide by religious teachings and pray for a better society.
