Dika Ofoma's ‘A Quiet Monday’ Selected For Nollywood Week Film Festival In Paris, France.

‘A Quiet Monday’ has been selected for the Nollywood Weekend Film Festival in France in the category of short films. The announcement was made by the organisers on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. 

The Nollywood Week Film Festival, an annual film festival in Paris, France will be held between May 2, 2024 to May 5, 2024. The 3-day event is set to bring together the best of African storytelling and cutting-edge technology. For this year’s festival, the organisers will be pushing the “boundaries of creativity by spotlighting captivating films and shining a spotlight on the dynamic intersection of AI, animation, VR, and gaming from Africa.”

 ‘A Quiet Monday’ tells the story of siblings – Kamnonu and Ogbonna – who face danger when they defy the ’sit-at-home’ restrictions mandated by the loyalists of a secessionist militant group in the south-eastern part of Nigeria when their leader was jailed

The 2023 film directed by Dika Ofoma features a talented cast of actors such as Uzoamaka Anuinoh, Emmanuel Igwe, Ozioma Ejiofor, Daniel Ngozika, Onyinye Odokoro. 

Other selected films for the 11th edition of the Nollywood Week Festival 2024 includes Babatunde Apalowo’s ‘All The Colors of The World Are Between White & Black’ for feature films, Bayo Lambo’s ‘Angie’s Love’ for short films, Moses Inwang’s ‘Dead Serious’ for feature films, Seun Afolabi’s ‘Atoka’ for feature films, Korede Azeez’s ‘Halima’s Choice’ for short films, Biodun Stephen’s ‘Sista’ for feature films.

In the 2023 edition of the Nollywood Week Film Festival, Daniel Ehimen’s ‘Ba Ni’ was awarded the Best Feature Film Award while Uzoamaka Aniunoh ‘Love Language’ and Goga Clay’s ‘Employee of the Month’ both won the Best Short Film Awards.
