Court Throws Out FG’s Application To Extradite Abba Kyari To US

A Federal Excessive Courtroom in Abuja has thrown out a swimsuit by the Federal Authorities to extradite the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, to the USA of America.

In his ruling on Monday, Justice Inyang Ekwo struck out the swimsuit filed by Abubakar Malami, the Legal professional Basic of the Federation and Minister of Justice, on the bottom that the applying is incompetent, lacked benefit and was instituted in dangerous religion.

Justice Ekwo insisted that the present administration has no foundation to file the extradition request having commenced trial in a case filed in opposition to the embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police by the Nationwide Drug Regulation Enforcement Company.

The Federal Authorities filed the extradition costs in opposition to Kyari to pave manner for his extradition to the US to reply fraud allegations.

Kyari is needed in the USA over alleged conspiracy to commit wire fraud, cash laundering and identification theft.

On April 29, 2021, a grand jury filed an indictment in opposition to Kyari with the approval of the US district court docket for the Central District of California, after which a warrant was issued for his arrest.

In July 2021, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) indicted Kyari in a $1.1 million fraud involving an Instagram superstar, Hushpuppi.

A month later, the Inspector-Basic of Police, Usman Baba, obtained the report of a panel set as much as probe the allegation in opposition to the officer.
