Brazil got their FIFA U20 World Cup campaign back on track with an emphatic 6-0 thrashing of debutants Dominican Republic.

The South Americans had lost their opening game 3-2 to Italy, putting them at risk of elimination.

The defending Champions however recovered and shows their qualities against the minors, scoring twice in the first half, and four in the second half.

The victory means they leapfrogged Italy to second place on the table, three points adrift Nigeria who themselves defeated the Gill Azzurrini 2-0 earlier.

Brazil will now take on the Flying Eagles on Saturday, May 27 in a crucial game that could decide their fate at this year’s tournament.

Flying Eagles are through to the next round, but they need a point from the game to win the Group, while Brazil needs an outright win to go through.

Italy will face the Dominican Republic in other Group game, with the Europeans likely to come out victorious.
