Army Commander Emphasizes Role of Nigerians' Support in Military Performance

Brigadier-General Muktar Adamu, the commander of the 32nd Artillery Brigade in Akure, has urged national journalists to cover military events fairly, objectively, and factually.

To operate effectively and combat crimes and criminalities in the nation, according to Adamu, the military needs the support of all Nigerians.

The executive members of the Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists paid the army chief a courtesy call while they were in Akure, the state’s capital, to meet with him.

He claimed that all the military and other security agencies needed to make Nigeria free of crime was the support of the populace.

Negative coverage of military operations, he continued, “usually lowers officers’ morale. Therefore, the media should take care to provide accurate information without compromising national security.

The army collaborates with the state’s other security organizations to nip crime and other social vices in the bud.

The brigadier general claimed that women journalists in the state are adept at making sure that women’s voices are heard. He pledged the association would have the army’s unwavering support.

In her remarks earlier, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi, the chairperson of the Ondo NAWOJ, asked for the brigade’s support and cooperation to ensure friendly working relationships.

For a job well done, she commended the Commander.
