Archbishop Uka Uka Osim of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, alongside his wife, Anne Osim, and son, Roland Uka Osim, were abducted at gunpoint along with three other clergymen on May 1, 2024, in Abia State.

The family, accompanied by three priests identified as Azuka Ochu, Moses Okafor, and Anderson Akwazie, were en route to Awka, Anambra State, for evangelical duties when armed men intercepted them.

Confirming the abduction, Bishop Denis Onuoha, the administrator of the spiritual organization in Abia State, expressed deep concern over the situation. He revealed that, four days after the kidnapping, the abductors had not made any contact with anyone.

“We are very worried, but we maintain faith in the Almighty Father whom they serve with utmost devotion. We believe He will guide them through this ordeal,” Bishop Onuoha stated.

While urging security agencies to intervene swiftly and ensure the safe rescue of the clergymen, Bishop Onuoha emphasized that the community is fervently praying for the Archbishop and his companions’ safe return.

As of now, police authorities in both Anambra and Abia States have not issued a response to the kidnapping incident, leaving families and community members anxiously awaiting updates on the situation.
