The Theater Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Main Basic Christopher Musa, has urged the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee, INEC, to permit troops on the frontline to vote within the upcoming elections.

Musa made the plea throughout an interview with an area newspaper, Metro Watch.

The commander defined that since troopers could not vote on election day as a result of they’d be on responsibility, then they need to be allowed to vote a day earlier than the election.

He urged INEC to discover a resolution to the issue, insisting that troopers and different safety operatives have been entitled to vote similar to different Nigerians.

He mentioned, “ Everyone seems to be entitled to vote. It’s simply that it’s not effectively sorted out in Nigeria. In another climes, the army and safety vote a day earlier than everybody else. That is in order that they’ll have the ability to focus on their duties the next day. If that’s performed for troops, it will be wonderful.

“Our drawback right here is that we’re all the time on responsibility when there’s an election. And you may’t put on uniforms to go and vote. That needs to be sorted out by the impartial nationwide electoral Fee (INEC).

“I imagine even the brand new system would get rid of so many fears of anomalies which trigger inhibitions.”
