York Regional Police say two drivers have serious injuries after a head-on collision in Vaughan on Thursday night.

The two-vehicle crash between a silver Volkswagen Jetta and a black Hyundai Sante Fe happened at around 7:40 p.m. in the Pine Valley Drive and Major Mackenzie Drive area, police said.

Police said the 26-year-old driver of the Jetta was driving westbound on Major Mackenzie Drive and the 55-year-old driver of the Sante Fe was going eastbound when they crashed into each other head on.

The two men were taken to a trauma centre in serious condition and both are deemed “critical.”
