Wike Opens Up On Alliance For 2023 Presidency, Says No More Relationship For Governorship Elections

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has spoken on the just concluded 2023 elections that produced the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu as the winner of the election.

Naija News recalls there have been various reports claiming that Wike played a pivotal role in ensuring that the presidential candidate of the APC, Tinubu emerged as the victor on the election.

The APC had polled a total vote of 231,591 in Rivers state, defeating the Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party.

There have also been allegations that Wike forced some individuals to vote for the ruling party.

Speaking on Friday, during the commissioning of Oyo state 5,000,000-litre Aviation Fuel Dispensing Depot at the Ibadan airport in the Alakia area of the state, Wike thanked Nigerians for ensuring that power returns to the southern part of Nigeria

The PDP chieftain noted that the emergence of Tinubu as the president-elect has settled the call for a southern presidency.

Wike also expressed gratitude that the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde was one of the people that supported the power shift to the southern part of the country after 8 years of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Wike said: “I have told people that those who fight for change, who fight for revolution may not be directed beneficiaries of that fight, but today, history has it that all of us now are aware that when power finishes from the south, it will go to the north; when it finishes from the north, it will come to the south.”
