Frank Onyeka believes the Super Eagles have the quality to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Jose Peseiro’s side will be targeting a fourth title when hostilities begin in Cote d’Ivoire next January.
The three-time African champions will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A.
Onyeka, who plays for Premier League club, Brentford, is upbeat the Super Eagles can challenge for the title.
“Look at the squad we’ve got, we can go there and win it. We’ve got Osimhen, Boniface, Awoniyi — they are all doing well in Europe,” the midfielder told Livescore.
“So we’ve got a good team and we can go and win. We have plenty of past players who have done well for Nigeria but now for us as players, we need to focus on ourselves and as a team to do what we need to do to make our nation proud.”
The Super Eagles will open their campaign against Equatorial Guinea at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe on January 14.
They will take on Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau on January 18 and January 22 respectively.
