Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reacted to the outcome of the March 18th governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Makinde, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the Saturday polls.
Naija News understands that Makinde polled higher votes than his closest rival, Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who came second in the polls.
Reacting to the polls’ outcome shortly after INEC’s declaration, Makinde took to his official Twitter account to dedicate the victory to God and the people of Oyo State.
He expressed delight that the good people of the state embraced him, assuring him that he will do better in his second tenure.
“We dedicate this victory to God and the good people of Oyo State. We are grateful for your confidence in our administration and promise to work even harder to deliver our promises under Omituntun 2.0,” Makinde wrote on Twitter sharing photos of himself, family members and PDP chieftains celebrating the election victory.
