In a peculiar turn of events, a motorcycle thief identified as Sani Nafiu has been apprehended by the Kaduna State Police Command following a report made by his own father.

Confirming the arrest, the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, stated that the incident occurred on March 29, when the suspect’s father alerted authorities upon sighting his son with a motorcycle suspected to have been stolen from Abuja.

According to Hassan, police operatives swiftly responded to the report and arrested Sani Nafiu at his residence in Tijjani Kaya quarters, situated in Giwa Local Government Area.

Further investigations uncovered alarming details surrounding the theft, revealing that the suspect had allegedly stabbed the original owner of the motorcycle, identified as Mr. Shamsu Jamilu, aged 28, in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. After incapacitating the victim, Nafiu reportedly seized possession of the motorcycle.

Fortunately, law enforcement efforts led to the recovery of the stolen motorcycle, providing a crucial breakthrough in the case.

ASP Mansir Hassan emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, with plans to bring the suspect to justice through prosecution in a court of law once all necessary procedures are completed.

The arrest highlights the collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and vigilant citizens in combating crime and ensuring public safety within Kaduna State.
