Enugu: Why We Can’t Collapse Structure For Labour Party

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has denied reports of collapsing its structure for the Labour Party (LP) ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

The clarification was made in a statement on Friday by the chairman of APGA in Enugu, Ndubuisi EnechiOnyia.

EnechiOnyia released the statement in reaction to claims that some APGA members pledged allegiance to the Labour Party in the Nsukka area of Enugu.

The APGA chairman who described such reports as laughable insisted that those behind the claims were “mercantile political jobbers.“ as APGA is the party to beat.

“The political landscape in the country has since given more credence to a structure of people committed to values and principles. We have had many joining our movement in the past one year and we are not fazed by merchants who see politics as a business for pecuniary interests,” stated the APGA leader.

“This is the season where mercantile politicians reveal their true colours, so it is not surprising,” he added.

Our Candidate Is The Best

The APGA chairman stated further that the party’s governorship candidate, Frank Nweke Jr is the best and the people of Enugu will surely cast their votes for him on Saturday.

“If there will be a party that people would collapse their structure for, it would be APGA because its governorship candidate in Enugu, Frank Nweke Jnr, is the candidate to beat in this election.

“This is about the people, not a few politicians,” EnechiOnyia said.
