The Ebonyi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Mrs Pauline Ugochi Onyeka has called for immediate review of the results emanating from Ishielu Local Government Area.

According to Ugochi, the reason for the review of Ishielu election results was due to complaints that the result sheets were tampered with by some persons.

She said, “They complained about the result sheets. We gave them replacement result sheets and they are still finding it difficult to get us right. We are of the opinion that the Sdmin Secretary and the Review Committee should look into it.

“They will continue to take it from what is contained in the INEC Result Election Vote, IREV. They will go through the result sheets and work on it, then come up with the results and where it fails to tally, we will cancel that Ishielu local government area election.

The INEC boss further stated that the declaration of a winner in the ongoing governorship and House of Assembly election will be MADE on Monday by 10:00am. ”

Meanwhile, the APC governorship candidate, Francis Nwifuru has won in nine out of the 12 local governments that have been officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the state.

The results show that Nwifuru won in Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Izzi, Ikwo, Afikpo North, Afikpo South, Ivo, Ohaozara and Ohaukwu LGAs while APGA won in Ezza North and Ezza South LGAs.

Similarly, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won in Onicha Local Government Area of the state.
