Benue APC raises the alarm over alleged appointments | The Guardian Nigeria News

Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday, said that it has reliable information that Governor Samuel Ortom plans to appoint new permanent secretaries and give accelerated promotions to selected cronies in the state civil service.

A statement by the state Publicity Secretary, Daniel Ihomun, yesterday, in Makurdi, Benue State, APC wondered why Ortom would be making appointments at the twilight of his term in office when he should be writing his hand over notes.

The APC scribe alleged that they have information that the “new appointees would be strategically placed in selected ministries to constitute impediments to the in incoming administration of Fr. Hyacinth Alia by planting land mines and pitfalls to slow his takeoff.”

The APC advised those whose names have been penciled down for such appointments, promotions and placements to reject the offer. The statement reads in part: “Those who refuse to heed to this warning and take up such appointments will be treated as saboteurs and enemies of Benue people by the incoming administration of Alia.”

When The Guardian tried to reach the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Nathaniel Ikyur, he neither answered phone calls nor replied to text messages sent to his mobile phone.
